The 1BHK Suite is HMK's work-from-sanctuary unit — built for the global nomad who lands with a laptop and a calendar full of calls. A dedicated office corner, ergonomic seating, and the same fiber-optic mesh Wi-Fi as the Penthouse. Bedroom is separated from the lounge by a proper door so guests can take a 10pm call without trading off rest. The kitchenette handles coffee, breakfast and a light supper; the 2BHK and the Penthouse carry full kitchens.

The 1BHK Suite, in full

The 1BHK Suite is the one to take for a stay longer than a few nights: a separate bedroom and living space, a king bed and a desk, from $115 a night — the point at which a trip stops feeling like a hotel stay.

Who the 1BHK Suite is for

Business travellers on a week or more, couples who want room to spread out, and anyone whose trip has work in it. From 52 m² it gives you the thing a studio cannot: a door between where you sleep and where you sit.

That separation is why this is the most-booked apartment here for stays past three nights. You can take a call in the living area while someone sleeps, eat at a table rather than on the bed, and close the bedroom door on a day that ran long.

It is not the apartment for a family with children or for hosting — two separate bedrooms and a full kitchen start at the 2BHK Suite.

What is actually in the suite

A king bed with premium linen in its own bedroom. A separate living area with seating and a dining table. A dedicated work setup — an ergonomic desk, monitor-ready cabling and acoustic privacy — designed for executives running calls across Kampala, London and Gulf time zones.

A kitchenette with a microwave, refrigerator and tea and coffee station. One ensuite bathroom. A balcony. Fibre-optic mesh Wi-Fi throughout at symmetric speeds, which is the part that matters when a video call runs an hour.

  • From 52 m², king bed, separate living area, one bathroom
  • Dedicated desk with monitor-ready cabling
  • Kitchenette: microwave, refrigerator, tea and coffee station
  • Breakfast included, served downstairs 07:00–10:30
  • Daily housekeeping; laundry and ironing as a service
  • Balcony; fibre-optic mesh Wi-Fi throughout

What a week actually costs

At $115 a night with a 10 to 20 per cent discount from seven nights, a week comes in below seven times the headline rate, with breakfast included every morning.

Compare that against a resort room on the same road: those generally open in the mid-200s of US dollars with breakfast and no kitchen, so every lunch and dinner is bought. Over seven nights for two people the gap is several hundred dollars, and the resort week buys you a pool and a spa you may not use.

For a month, ask for the monthly rate. This is the apartment most relocations take, and the monthly figure is materially below the nightly rate multiplied out.

Living in it

The working week here has a shape. Breakfast downstairs from seven. Calls from the desk in the morning, or the drive into central Kampala — around 25 minutes, and you travel out as the rest of the city drives in. Back in the late afternoon against the flow.

Laundry goes down in the morning and comes back the same day, which is the small thing that makes a three-week trip sustainable. Dinner is either cooked in the kitchenette, taken in the restaurant downstairs, or sent up to the apartment.

Entebbe International Airport is about 20 km away, almost all of it on the Entebbe Express Highway. Give the concierge your flight number rather than a time, and the driver watches the flight.

Weighing it against the others?

Each apartment page carries the same breakdown — who it suits, what is in it, and what a week comes to.

1BHK Suite — questions

How big is the 1BHK Suite?
From 52 m², with a separate bedroom holding a king bed, a living area with seating and a dining table, a kitchenette, one ensuite bathroom and a balcony.
What is the difference between the Studio Deluxe and the 1BHK Suite?
A door. The Studio Deluxe is one open room from 32 m² at $105 a night; the 1BHK Suite is from 52 m² at $115 and separates the bedroom from the living area, and adds a proper desk setup. For stays past about three nights, most guests find the separation worth the difference.
Does the 1BHK Suite have a kitchen?
A kitchenette with a microwave, refrigerator and a tea and coffee station, plus a dining table in the living area. Full kitchens with a cooker start at the 2BHK Suite.
Is the 1BHK Suite good for working remotely from Kampala?
It is the apartment built for it. There is a dedicated desk with monitor-ready cabling and acoustic privacy, and fibre-optic mesh Wi-Fi at symmetric speeds throughout the building. The separate bedroom means a call at seven in the morning does not have to happen beside the bed.
How much is the 1BHK Suite per night?
From $115 a night, bed and breakfast, with a 10 to 20 per cent discount from seven nights and monthly rates on request.
