Plan Your Visit
Getting to Kigo is the easy part.
Fly into Entebbe International Airport and you're at HMK Living in about 20 km on the Entebbe Express Highway — no city traffic between you and the lake. Central Kampala is a 25-minute drive when business calls.
Kigo sits on the Lake Victoria shoreline, and its accommodation reflects that. Next door, the Lake Victoria Championship Golf resort is a full-service resort hotel. HMK Living is the alternative for longer and working stays: apartment suites from a studio to a three-bedroom penthouse, run with hotel-style service — a 24/7 guest concierge, laundry service and 24/7 armed security on site.
Kigo is a lakeside suburb in Wakiso District, on the northern shore of Lake Victoria, between Kampala and Entebbe. HMK Living sits on Kigo Road, beside the Lake Victoria championship golf resort.
It is close enough to the capital to work there and far enough out to sleep properly. The Entebbe Express Highway runs past the turn-off, which is what makes both the airport and the city straightforward from the same address.

How do I get from Entebbe airport to Kigo?
It is about 20 km from Entebbe International Airport to Kigo, almost all of it on the Entebbe Express Highway. The concierge arranges a transfer that meets you in arrivals, which is the simplest way to do it on a first visit.
Driving yourself or taking a ride-hailing car works too. Agree the fare before you set off if you use a metered or negotiated ride, and give the driver Kigo Road rather than only the property name — the road is the landmark drivers know.
Tell the concierge your flight number when you book the transfer. Flights into Entebbe often land late in the evening, and a driver who is watching the flight will still be there if you are delayed.
How long does it take to reach central Kampala?
About 25 minutes in ordinary traffic, longer at the morning and evening peaks. Meetings in Nakasero, Kololo or the business district are a comfortable drive, and the direction of travel works in your favour — you leave the city as everyone else is arriving.
If your day is packed with city meetings back to back, ask the concierge about a chauffeur for the day rather than making the run twice.
What is around Kigo?
The championship golf course is immediately next door, and a wellness spa is adjacent to the property. The lake shore itself is a short walk, with resort dining about five minutes away.
Kigo is residential and quiet by design. It is not a nightlife district — the restaurants, bars and markets of the city are a drive away, which is precisely why people who have to be sharp the next morning choose to sleep here.
Breakfast is on site; the lake and the golf course are a short walk from the door.
What accommodation is there in and around Kigo?
Lodging in the area falls into three kinds: lakeside resort hotels, serviced apartments, and small guest houses. Which suits you depends mostly on how long you are staying and how much space you need.
Resort hotels suit a night or two, with a room, a restaurant and a reception desk. Serviced apartments — what HMK Living offers — give you a lounge, a desk and a kitchen or kitchenette alongside hotel-style service, which tells over a week or a month. Guest houses are the budget end and vary widely in what they include.
At HMK Living the apartments run from the Studio Deluxe through the 1BHK Suite and 2BHK Suite to the 3BHK Penthouse. Breakfast is included with every stay and served in the restaurant downstairs.
Is Kigo a good base for a business trip?
Yes, if your days are spent between the airport and the city rather than inside one neighbourhood of Kampala. You get a short, predictable airport run and a quiet night, and you trade a little proximity to the CBD for both.
Every apartment has a desk and fibre-optic mesh Wi-Fi, so a morning of calls before a lunchtime meeting in town is a reasonable way to plan a day.
Is Kigo suitable for families?
It suits families who want space and quiet more than they want to be in the middle of the city. The 2BHK Suite and the 3BHK Penthouse have full kitchens and separate bedrooms, which matters when a trip runs past a few nights.
The area is residential and calm, with the lake and the golf resort close by. Anything a family needs beyond the apartment — a transfer, a table at a particular hour, a late check-out — is arranged through the concierge.
How do people get around once they are here?
Most guests use a car: their own, a hired one, a ride-hailing app, or the property's chauffeur. The concierge can arrange a driver by the hour or the day, which is usually the least trouble for a packed schedule.
Boda-bodas — motorcycle taxis — are everywhere in Uganda and are quick through traffic, but they carry more risk than a car. If you use one, agree the fare first and insist on a helmet.
